Scams, impersonation, and human-centric fraud are rising fast - increasingly targeting credit union members, impacting millions of lives and causing billions of dollars in financial harm.
The National Member Protection Initiative (NMPI) brings together forward-looking credit unions to lead a proactive approach to member protection, combining education, real-time support, and modern AI-powered tools to help members stay safe.
Launching during National Consumer Protection Week 2026, led by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, NMPI will spotlight a select group of up to 10 credit unions demonstrating leadership in protecting members from scams and fraud.
Participating credit unions will be publicly recognized as leaders in consumer protection while gaining access to tools and education designed to proactively protect members in an increasingly complex fraud landscape.
